You're Invited to Our Annual General Meeting

Join fellow members on Sunday 5th July for our Annual General Meeting. We'll kick things off with a complimentary BBQ lunch before our General Meeting and AGM.

As we look ahead to another exciting year, all Executive positions will be open for nomination. We encourage members to come along, get involved and help shape the future of our great club.

Adding to the day, Neville and Robyn Marsden have generously donated a load of firewood which will be drawn as a lucky door prize, along with a selection of other prizes and giveaways. It's sure to be a great afternoon of friendship, fun and club spirit, and we look forward to seeing as many members there as possible.

    Junior Development Program 2026

CMHAC will continue to build on the interest and success of our previous programs. The program will feature a motorkhana on October 18th for juniors, comprising some basic car maintenance sessions followed by a motorkhana, initially with an experienced instructor in the vehicle. The participants will receive a Motorsport Australia Junior L2S licence and CMHAC Junior Membership subsidised by the car club, as part of their $40 entry fee.

Participants will also have the use of 4 club cars of varying specifications for the day if they do not have access to or wish to use a suitable vehicle of their own. The motorkhana will develop and improve their car handling skills at lower speeds in a safe environment.

The second session of the program will be a 'Come and Try' hillclimb on November 14th at Mt Gladstone. This event will be open to all first time participants as well as the motorkhana group who will receive automatic entry. Participants will learn some valuable driving skills at a higher speed, under controlled conditions. Again they will have the use of suitably prepared club cars for this event. The second day of the hillclimb weekend is an open hillclimb where participants can observe the running of and competition aspect of a speed event. Participants will be encouraged to join in as trainee officials for the day which will let them be close to the action and hopefully inspire them to continue their experiences as either a competitor or an official, preferably both.

Apart from improving their driving skills and car knowledge, one of the desired outcomes of the program is to attract younger members to motorsport, which will allow them to enjoy and practise their driving skills under controlled conditions on a closed road. Alternatively they will have the option of experiencing motorsport at close hand by becoming and event official. A second important outcome is the continued membership of participants, and in many cases, other family members.

Participation is limited to boys and girls aged 14 to 17 years, although those 12 and 13 years old may enter the motorkhana with an entry available to the hillclimb once they reach 14 years.

The Mt Gladstone hillclimb in Cooma is organised by the Cooma Monaro Historic Automobile Club (CMHAC), sanctioned by Motorsport Australia, and uses the Mt Gladstone Rd which is located about 4 Kms out of Cooma. The road leads to the Mt Gladstone Lookout and Miss Heidi’s Tea House and is closed for each event.

The events provide an outlet for both young and old to develop or hone their skills in a controlled and safe environment. Newcomers are catered for by our ‘Come and Try’ events where anyone who has never participated in a motor sport event can come and have a go, either with or without an instructor, in a non-competitive environment. In association with the hillclimb CMHAC runs a Junior Development program, which involves young adults aged between 14 and 18. The program encompasses a Motorkhana event which allows participants to learn and experience car control at relatively low speeds, followed by a session at the ‘Come and Try’ hillclimb. CMHAC provide club cars for both events, and adults at the ‘Come and Try’ can also use a club car if they wish.

Seasoned hillclimb participants appreciate Mt Gladstone as it an ‘old school’ hillclimb, challenging but a lot of fun, in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Participants are required to hold a current Motorsport Australia Level 2 Speed Licence and be a member of a Motorsport Australia affiliated car club. Introductory Licences are available on the day for newcomers.

Come and Try event on Saturday and open hillclimb on Sunday.
